Gath Sports Rider Indigo “Gogo” Dale Places 5th at the Australian National Skateboarding Championships

We’re beyond proud to share that Indigo “Gogo” Dale, our very own Gath Sports team rider, has just placed 5th nationally at the Australian Park Skateboarding Championships, held on June 22 in Redbank Plains, Queensland.

At just 15 years old, Gogo was one of only 12 women selected to compete at the Nationals, an incredible achievement in itself. Her selection followed her recognition as 1st reserve for the Skateboarding World Cup in Ostia, Rome, which effectively ranked her 5th in the country even before stepping onto the national stage.

 

A regular at the Margaret River skate park, Gogo has consistently shown her dedication and passion for skateboarding. Over the last three years, she has podiumed at nearly every major Women’s Open Division event in Western Australia, only missing one due to injury.

After returning from the Nationals, Gogo shared:

“I put in about 20 hours of practice a week and I feel like all my hard work is finally paying off. Although my trick list has recently gone to a whole new level, after competing against the skaters from over East, I now know what I need to work on to get to move up the rankings.”

 

Gogo made history by becoming the first ever rider in Gath Sports’ Skate Team Division, a major step forward for our brand as we continue to support athletes pushing boundaries in their sport. Seeing her now compete and succeed at a national level confirms exactly why we believed in her from the start.

Despite the tough competition, Gogo held her own, finishing 5th in Australia. All four skaters who placed above her have previously represented Australia on the international stage, a clear indicator of just how high Gogo is aiming and how close she is to the very top.
