Gath Sports is thrilled to welcome two incredible new additions to our team: father-and-son duo Federico and Edoardo Vanno. Federico, the renowned Liquid Barrel photographer known and respected throughout the global surf community, brings decades of experience as a waterman, surf explorer, and visual storyteller. Meanwhile, his super young son Edoardo, just 6 years old, is already making waves—literally—showing fearless enthusiasm and a love for the ocean far beyond his years. Hailing from Italy but now rooted in Bali’s vibrant surf scene, this dynamic duo perfectly represents the heart of Gath Sport: passion, performance, and protection.

EDO:
My name is Edoardo Vanno, I’m born in August 2018 , my origins are Italian but I was born in Bali and I speak English better than Italian. My mom and dad moved to Bali in 2011/12 to follow their passions and then I finally arrived. Life in Bali is different for us as children, they call us Bali kids precisely because life on the island makes you live your childhood super fun. We can go to the beach all year round and we surf when we are very young except me… I was afraid of the water until a year ago but then suddenly I unlocked myself and I take the biggest waves of all.
My mom and dad make me do a lot of things but especially skateboard and surf and 3 times a year I go to visit my dad where he work at Kandui Resort on Mentawaii Island which is a place known for its many waves and my favorite wave is 4bobs and Bikini.
I started grade one here in Bali in an international school where I study a lot and when I grow up I want to be a champion of everything.

FEDE:
My name is Federico Vanno, I’m an ocean lover since 1978. I grow up in Rome and I learn all my experiences on sailing boat due regatta for 10 years all around Italy at the same time I’ve started surfing and competing. I had many surf trips around the world and that is why my photography passion started coming out. I’ve studied in photography private school for almost 2 years and I bought my first housing. After I decided with my wife to move to Bali in 2012, and this was the beginning of my new life and carrier, everyday was spent in the salt water with my camera and Liquid Eye water housing gave me their support since the last 5 years.
From 2022 I’m based in Kandui Resort and I’m the assistant manager and water photographer/videographer.
I’m grateful to Gath for the support and to protect my head from the reef and from the surfers.
