Gath Team Riders Take on Main Break

When the forecast lights up at Main Break, you know it’s going to be serious. Heavy lines stacking on the horizon, strong wind grooming the faces, and the raw power that has made this stretch of coast in Margaret River one of the most famous — and demanding — waves on the planet.

On this particular day, the Gath Team stepped into the arena.

Professional windsurfer Federico Infantino took to the lineup on his windsurf gear, while Wing Foil World Champion Bastien Escofet charged on the wing. Supporting the action from the water was videographer Loan Visentin, shooting from the jet ski, expertly driven by Dimitri Georges. From riders to rescue support, every member of the crew was protected by Gath Helmets — built for exactly these kinds of conditions.

Power Meets Precision

Main Break is not forgiving. The wave demands commitment, positioning, and absolute confidence in both your equipment and your team.

Federico attacked the open faces with speed and flow, driving powerful bottom turns and critical top turns under full control. Wearing the Neo Hat, Gath’s iconic surfing helmet, he had the advantage of its unique design that minimizes the “bucket effect” during heavy wipeouts — a crucial feature when you’re moving at full speed into solid Margaret River surf.

At the same time, Bastien showcased why he’s at the top of the wing foiling world. Flying above the water at high velocity, carving lines across the face, and committing to late drops, he relied on the GEDI model — Gath’s highest level of impact protection, specifically engineered for foiling and marine rescue scenarios. In a sport where speed and elevation increase risk, maximum protection is non-negotiable.

Performance Behind the Lens

A session like this isn’t only about the riders.

Filming at Main Break requires just as much skill as riding it. Loan Visentin operated from the jet ski in the impact zone, wearing the GEDI for ultimate protection in unpredictable conditions. Meanwhile, jet ski pilot Dimitri Georges navigated heavy water, positioning perfectly for angles while ensuring safety for everyone in the lineup — protected by the Neo Hat.

Driving and filming in one of the most challenging surf environments in the world demands experience, timing, and total focus. The coordination between riders and support crew was seamless — a true team performance.

Built for Multi-Impact Protection

Every helmet worn during the session is fully certified and engineered for multi-impact protection — a critical feature when operating in high-risk marine environments. From high-speed foil crashes to windsurf wipeouts and jet ski operations in turbulent water, Gath Helmets are designed to perform when it matters most.

One of the World’s Toughest Stages

Main Break isn’t just another wave — it’s a global benchmark. Known for hosting elite-level competition and testing the limits of water athletes, it remains one of the most respected and demanding spots worldwide.

This session wasn’t just about scoring waves. It was about pushing performance across disciplines — windsurfing and wing foiling — while demonstrating the importance of protection at the highest level.

From the lineup to the lens to the throttle, the entire Gath Team delivered.

Skill. Commitment. Protection.

An incredible day at Main Break.
