From Margaret River to the World Stage: Indigo Dale’s Journey to the 2026 World Championships

At just 16 years old, Margaret River skateboarder Indigo “Gogo” Dale is turning years of dedication into an exciting new chapter: representing Germany at the 2026 Skateboard World Championships in Paraguay.

After finishing third in the Women’s Open Division at the German Park Skateboarding Nationals in Leipzig, held from 3–6 September, Indigo earned selection to compete against the world’s best. At Gath Sports, we’re proud to see her pursuing her goals with the GATH RGM as part of her skating journey.

Her podium finish tells only part of the story. Behind it are countless hours at the skatepark, international travel, setbacks and the determination to keep progressing.

In July, Indigo travelled to the Gold Coast for the Australian Nationals, where a crash ended her campaign in the semi-finals. A training injury in Melbourne followed, leaving her with a tight recovery window before Germany.

Despite a difficult lead-up, she returned to the international stage and secured another podium finish at the German Nationals, following her second place in the Women’s Open Division last year.

Eligible to represent Germany through her German-born mum, Indigo has found a strong connection with the country and its skateboarding community.

“I absolutely love skating in Germany, as I get to practice my German and the people are just so supportive of me there,” she shared.

“This year’s bowl was a lot more difficult than last year’s, but I absolutely loved it and it gave me a chance to demonstrate some of my harder tricks.”

Now, her attention turns to Paraguay this October, with the dream of competing at the Los Angeles Olympics still firmly in sight.

“Being selected for the World Championships is an absolute dream and something I’ve been working on for several years.”

That ambition is backed by a serious commitment to training. Indigo typically spends around 30 hours a week skating. Weather permitting, there’s a good chance you’ll find her at Margaret River Skate Park, refining her tricks and preparing for her next challenge.

Throughout her journey, Indigo wears the GATH RGM, which has earned an independent 5-star rating from the Virginia Tech Helmet Lab. Dual-certified for concrete and water sports, the RGM meets ASTM F1492-22 and EN1078 standards, alongside EN1385 certification for water sports.
